Our Director Paul Grundy qualified as a Chartered Building Surveyor in 1973. He became FRICS in 1984 and is a member of the RICS Expert Witness Registration Scheme, the Expert Witness Institute and the Pyramus & Thisbe organisation of Party Wall Surveyors.

Paul co-founded the practice of Rogers and Grundy in 1978 which grew to 5 offices covering London, East Anglia and Hertfordshire, providing private, corporate and public sector clients with Building Surveying and General Practice advice. Multi-disciplinary design services were provided under Term Commissions for Government Ministries.

After 26 years Rogers and Grundy was acquired by another practice. Following a period working with the new practice, Paul set up Paul Grundy Surveying offering existing and new clients his many years of experience in property.

Paul has worked with period property since 1968, undertaking Building Surveys and advising on their maintenance, repair, alteration and extension. This has included all types of historic buildings including those listed Grade 1 for their special architectural or historic interest.

Paul Grundy first appeared in Court as an Expert Witness in 1980. Since then numerous disputes relating to property have been dealt with which has included Expert Witness appearances in the High Court. Paul is often appointed as a Single Joint Expert whose duty is to assist the Court in determining disputes.

Party Walls matters extended from London to other areas of the country after the 1996 Act. Paul has acted as the Appointed Surveyor for both Building Owners and Adjoining Owners since that time to settle Party Wall matters between the parties.
